Introduction to

Brow Lift

One of the most common procedures performed for people who are unhappy with wrinkled forehead and sagging eyebrows is a brow lift. In Atlanta, our board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Lindsey Webb, offers several different brow lift techniques to accommodate men and women at different stages of aging. These procedures are ideal for people who want to soften a scowling expression of the vertical “11” lines between the eyes, improve the heavy, hooded upper eyelids and restore more youthful and approachable look with improvement of forehead horizontal wrinkles.

Traditional

Brow Lift

It used to be that cosmetic surgery was for the “over 50” crowd but, today, nearly one-third of those seeking facial rejuvenation surgery are between 35 and 50 years old. Modern surgical techniques can offer beautiful and natural improvements that help years melt away without broadcasting to the world that someone has had surgery.

The

Procedure

A brow lift for our Atlanta Area patients is an outpatient procedure under local or general anesthesia. The procedure may take 1 to 2 hours. With the classical or “open” method the incision is hidden just inside or at the hairline across the scalp and between the ears.

Dr. Webb lessens the appearance of wrinkles by removing selected muscles and releasing tissues, which cause the wrinkles. The eyebrows may also be elevated to help with the heavy upper eyelids and excess skin at the incision will be removed to allow a gentle redraping of your forehead skin.

Wrinkles and frown lines often first appear in the brow and forehead area. A forehead lift or brow lift in Atlanta can smooth out the wrinkles and correct drooping brows and heavy lids to provide a younger, friendlier appearance. A brow lift can be performed alone or with other cosmetic procedures such as a facelift, eyelid surgery, or laser skin resurfacing.

Minimal Incision (Endoscopic)

Brow Lift Option

Over the years, the brow area begins to sag making you look tired, sad, or even angry all of the time. Minimal incision brow lift is a quicker, less invasive way to erase years from your face with shorter incisions and less down time than a traditional brow lift.

A minimal incision, endoscopic brow lift is particularly effective for younger patients where the removal of excess skin is not required. This technique requires only a few tiny incisions that are concealed in the hairline. Using a small camera, like in laparoscopic surgery, the muscle is released and the skin is redraped and secured while watching for and protecting blood vessels and nerves in the area. Since an endoscopic brow lift can significantly reduce the frown lines between the eyes, it is often performed in conjunction with upper eyelid surgery to achieve optimal results.
