What does it mean to be board certified?
Dr. Lindsey Webb is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This certification is a rigorous process which includes six years of training in plastic and reconstructive surgery, in addition to, four years of medical school.  Achieving and maintaining a board certification status is a significant commitment to continuing education, practice improvement, and assessment of knowledge to ensure patients have highly trained and safe surgeons. While physicians may be certified by other boards, the American Board of Plastic Surgery is considered the “gold standard” for plastic surgeon certification. What are the FACS letters behind the degree?
Dr. Webb is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, which ensures that her
“training, professional qualifications, surgical competence and ethical conduct have
passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high
standards established and demanded” by The American College of Surgeons.
