Dermal fillers are FDA-approved, gel-like injectables designed to restore lost volume, soften lines, and enhance natural facial contours. This quick, in-office treatment offers noticeable rejuvenation with little to no downtime.
As collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid decline with age, facial volume diminishes and lines around the mouth, cheeks, and chin become more pronounced. Dermal fillers can help address these changes by:
Softening lines around the nose and mouth
Restoring volume to the cheeks and temples
Enhancing and defining the lips
Smoothing chin creases
Improving facial balance and symmetry
Creating a more refreshed, approachable appearance
Dr. Lindsey Webb offers a curated selection of dermal fillers tailored to enhance each patient’s unique features. With many products available, expert guidance is essential to achieve natural-looking results. Each filler is designed for specific areas and depths, allowing for precise, customized treatment. During your consultation, Dr. Webb will select the ideal product to help you look refreshed, balanced, and beautifully natural.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that exists in the human body. It can be found in connective and skin tissue and cartilage. It is extracted, reformulated and then offered as a dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid fillers include:
Calcium hydroxyapatite is a substance found naturally in human bones. It is a mineral-like compound and one of the heavier dermal fillers used for deep crevices and creases and lower cheek and mid-face volume. Calcium hydroxyapatite fillers include Radiesse®.
Sculptra® is a poly-L-lactic acid synthetic gel filler. This particular substance works differently than the other fillers because, once injected, it stimulates collagen production. Therefore, results will not be immediate but will appear gradually over time.
Fat transfer, also known as fat grafting, uses your own natural tissue to restore facial volume. Excess fat is gently liposuctioned from areas such as the abdomen or thighs, carefully processed, and then precisely injected into the face. While a small portion of the transferred fat may be reabsorbed during the initial healing period, the remaining fat establishes long-term, natural volume.
Renuva® is an off-the-shelf adipose tissue allograft that provides a supportive matrix to stimulate the body’s own fat cell regeneration, offering a non-surgical option for volume restoration.
At your dermal filler consultation in our Atlanta office, Dr. Webb will evaluate your areas of concern and review your medical history to ensure the safest, most effective results. While dermal fillers are generally very safe, full disclosure of allergies, medical conditions, and medications is essential, as certain factors may affect your outcome. To minimize bruising, we recommend avoiding aspirin, ibuprofen, alcohol, and blood thinners for one week prior to treatment, when possible.
On the day of your procedure, the area will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream applied for comfort. Many fillers also contain lidocaine, a mild anesthetic, to further reduce discomfort during and after injection. Dr. Webb will then strategically place precise amounts of filler beneath the skin to restore volume and enhance natural contours.
Depending on the product and treatment area, results from dermal fillers are often visible immediately. Mild bruising or swelling may occur but is temporary and typically resolves within a few days. Dr. Webb recommends avoiding strenuous exercise, aspirin, ibuprofen, and alcohol on the day of your treatment to minimize complications.
The longevity of your results varies based on the product, treatment area, and individual factors. To maintain optimal outcomes, follow-up treatments may be recommended, with adjustments to achieve the desired effect.
